I read through all 60 volumes…. It’s interesting!!
I like baseball, so it’s catchy for me.
The beginning of this manga reminds me of Kyudo-kun.. Is it only me?
Anyway, I expect for watching anime! I hope the artstyle would be better, though.

I read the manga at Manga cafe….
Concierge vol. 1-14
This manga was into the news because it pointed out the mistake of that gourmet manga. Anyway, this manga is very interesting. This shows the human drama through hotel service called Concierge, also gives us the useful information and laugh. Personally, I like character design! Especially female!!!! ^^
This was under serialized at the minor (?) magazine, Weekly comic punch, so this might not be famous, but I recommend this to everyone!
(This can be more popular! Even it can be anime or drama!)

Best and Worst Anime of 2008

The last day of the year and a time to talk about what the best anime of 2008 was.
I’m still backlogged and still haven’t finished Macross, Geass, Kemeko, Kannagi, Nodame and many more ^^;
But I did manage to keep up with Strike Witches and loved it. The animation and especially the background music was great.
As for the worst anime of 2008 – dont particulary remember any bad ones but do remember a load where I gave up after the first EP like Toradora and Hyakko.

I gave up on Toradora after 7 episodes. I Stuck with Akane-iro ni Somaru Saka and regretted that as well. ^_^ Maybe i chose the wrong one to drop…or maybe i shoulda dropped them both.

Well, here in the States we are a bit behind, but I have to call Geass one of the best anime of the year, and that I’ve seen. Also have to add Gurren Lagan. Still waiting for Macross Frontier.

Wow, really? I thought Index was a good show :X There was only one episode I was really disappointed in because barely anything happened. Otherwise, it’s just fine. If you say that Index is illogical, can’t I say that Kannagi was illogical? Afterall, goddesses and espers existing in anime is about the same level.

Code Geass has to be my best and favorite anime of 2008! Honestly, I’ve never seen an anime with such a crazy and surprising plot.
Kurozuka was a total mess up, it looked great after 2 episodes, but the last part became completely confusing and the finale was just cr**.

For the best… there’s 00, CG, Kyouran Kazoku, Toradora, Soul Eater etc…

Can’t really name the best or the worst since I didn’t see that many series, but I’ll list the ones that I enjoyed and the ones that weren’t as enjoyable.
The ones I enjoyed were Gundam 00, Clannad After Story, Kannagi, and Toradora.
Zero no Tsukaima 3 was a bit disappointing. The fanservice kind of eliminated the story somewhat.

Defense for Hyakko> I agree, there are boring moments. But there are great moments in Hyakko that made me glad that I kept on watching.

1.) Lucky Star OVA (Seriously, I was already happy about the thought that Kyo-Ani was releasing an OVA. It’s another to say that it’s completely original (from the manga), and it had great moments, made it definitely something I was glad I watched).
2.) Kyouran Kazoku Nikki (Very stupid, very random, very funny).
3.) Gundam 00 (it’s about time we got a good Gundam series to forget about SEED)
2008 worst 3)
1.) Code Geass R2 (it really did not live up to Season 1)
2.) Minami-ke Okawari (I really don’t know why I watched it… probably b/c I watched the first season and wanted closure. I didn’t get it).
3.) School Rumble (I mean, it’s an OVA).
2008 top 3, I was GLAD to find)
1.) Ga Rei > without the anime, the manga is seriously great
2.) Hyakko > manga is definitely hilarious
3.) Kemeko DX > in the same sense of Kyouran

Toradora is a series because Rie Kugumiya voiced the leading character. And I like Rie, that’s why I like Toradora. 
Worst anime for me was Hyakko. I almost slept over from it because of the silent atmosphere it gives. XD

I’m another one to recommend ToraDora. I think it’s a brilliant show, Taiga’s personality is like a hedgehog – adorable and spikey! Also watching Kemeko and Kannagi.
Worst series… well, can’t really say as I haven’t watched too many and I’ve like what I have. Gave up on Special A after the first episode though.

To be honest, I was thinking about dropping it after watching boring episode 2, but episode 4 and 5 were interesting, so I might keep watching to the end.
Some foreigners seem to like this anime. There are both pros and cons, but this anime becomes a topic, so it might be okay with that?
The best anime among foreigners seems seem to be « Toradora ». To Danny-san’s comment « dropped after episode 1 », so many foreigners left the comments supporting Toradora. I didn’t pick up everything, but in the source thread, there are more so many comments about Toradora. In these discussion, many people picked Toradora as the best anime 2008. Well, this anime is very popular among foreigners.
I know this anime is very popular among foreigners, and I watched this episode 1 with huge expectation, but… I still watch the pool episode or trip episode, but honestly I didn’t enjoy it very much. I know the reason. I don’t like the main characters, I mean, I’m not interested in the main characters. I’m not excited nor impressed whatever they do. I feel a little sad because this anime is very popular among foreigners and Japanese, too.
I cannot handle this because it’s my taste… ^^
The other anime as best anime 2008 are Kannagi, Geass, Macross F, Gundam00, Garei-Zero, Stopan… Well, not surprising.
But I was surprised because several foreigners picked Casshern Sins. I haven’t watched this anime, but this seems to be a good one. Oh, also, some foreigners picked CLANNAD-AFTERSTORY-… I haven’t watched this either, and I cannot watch this….. KEY style might make me cry, so I cannot…. O_o
The worst anime is « Zero no Tsukaima »… They said it has too much fanservice and nonsense story… I didn’t watch this either, so I cannot say anything. I don’t think it’s popular in Japan, either. What I know is just the elf has big breasts…
The next might be Rosario and Vampire CAPU2… They seemed to like OP, but content seemed not to be accepted… Well, anime cannot get success only with character popularity and ecchi elements…
Personally, the best is Code Geass R2 and the worst is Yattaman.
Geass has many things in the middle, but the last scene took me.
I didn’t feel any passion on Yattaman…
Nobody mentioned about « GUNSLINGER GIRL -IL TEATRINO- » even foreigners and also I expected… I felt sad because foreigners seem to forget about it completely… ^^

I love the guy that got to play Arnie, Kuroda Takaya, the voice of Kiryuu Kazuma from Yakuza/Ryuu Ga Gotoku. He sounded deeper than I could expect, but he works. I really like how well orchestrated the music is. It’s different, but still appropriate. To me, the feel of this anime is kind of like Nodame Cantabile, but for guys. I don’t know how to explain that, but the music has a lot to do with it.
But I am also pleased the seiyuu cast from the previous season are also back.

- The flashback was short & sweet.

Personally i thought the flashbacks were minimal and the first ep had everything. Great comedy lines, random Aoki stuff, Ippo-Miyata yaoi and straight into an epic fight! Not to mention it was all in HD!

This season seems alot different than the first season. Ippo’s attitude toward Miyata is clearly different. Its like he idolize’s him more than he see’s him as a rival. But it was still a good episode. I can’t wait until the next one comes out.

The foreigners’ reaction to « Hajime no Ippo New Challenger » episode 1 is..enough good evaluated.
I know this has a certain amount of foreign fans, but I didn’t think so many foreigners had been waiting for this season.
They seemed to be happy to have HD quality, BGM and this season has the same voice actors of season 1.
Personally, I rarely watched season 1, so I cannot compared to season 1. But this episode 1 made me want to watch the next episodes. The scene of match might be recycled of OVA.. But it’s just cool. I could be excited by watching this. This is THE sports anime! I think the rhythm of this anime is great, too. I was impressed this episode went to the scene just before Miyata vs Arnie’s match. Well, recent anime doesn’t move smoothly, and it often makes me irritated, so….
