I plan to cook Sushi at home…   Foreigners’ reaction.


-  How to cook Sushi?  My daughter loves Sushi, but Sushi is expensive.  If I could, I wanna cook it at home…

-  It’s easy.  Just prepare rice and fish!

-  You need super fresh fish, bamboo tool for rolling, knife, rice cooker and rice!

-  You need to fish tuna in the ocean!  If you need very fresh fish…

-  Let me tell you…  Sushi uses row fish.  If you don’t pay enough attention, you may have food poisoning.  If your daughter gets food poisoning, you need to pay extra for medication even you try to save money by cooking at home…

-  Choosing good rice is important.  You should get sticky rice, but it might be confused if you order sticky rice at Japanese supermarket.  You should be careful because they may think you want the rice for mochi.  Sushi needs general Japanese rice.  In weestern countries, they sell long-grain rice at supermarket.  Rice for sushi is short-grain type.

-  According to Sushi recipe, you seem to need preparing icy water.  You can cook beautiful sushi smoothly by having your hand and knife cold.  If your hands are enough cold, you seem to be able to grasp rice nicely.   Well, you just need to get used to it.

-  I recommend you to buy Sushi Magic kig sold with about $25.  It’s easy to use and has recipe book, too.  I could save at least $120 per month by using this.

-  Rolling sushi kit is sold with $20 at Asian shops.  But you should pay attention to food poisoning.  I really wanna say that!  Actually, my friends had sushi party at home, and I got food poisoning…  I think it might be good to eat at Sushi restaurant.  If you wanna get nice fish, it costs alot, too.

-  Rolling tool is about $2-3.

-  You don’t need that tool.  I use wrap for California roll.

-  Don’t do that!

-  If you cook Sushi at home, you should get fresh fish.  You really need to choose fish.  Please be careful!

-  General fish sold at shops are not enough fresh for eating row.

-  There are sushi without fish, too.  I like vegetable sushi!  ^^

-  My husband cooks at home.  He uses oysters, vegetables and cream cheese.  Oh, I wanna eat them now!  I need to ask him to cook it tomorrow!  lol

-  I don’t recommend you to cook sushi at home because it has risk of food poisoning.  I prefer going to eat at restaurant.

-   If you use the fish cooked with heat, it might be okay, but I recommend you to let it cook by professionals.  We can’t trust how fresh the fish is if we purchase at general shops.   Sushi chef goes to market every morning and gets the fresh fish.

-  You need bamboo rolling tool and rice (sticky rice), dried nori, crab sticks, carrot sticks, cucamber and egg for cooking simple sushi.  I recommend you to use sharp knife for cutting it.  If you push it too hard, Sushi would be crushed!  Good luck!
