In this video, it explains that many westerns refer astrology, but Japanese refer blood type.  Japanese ask blood-type when they meet someone for judging the personality. 
This video includes some interview to Japanese people about blood type and personality.  Basically, it’s about the reaction to “Blood types in Japanese culture”, so you don’t need to watch everything.

Personally, I don’t think blood type decides the tendency of characteristic, but in this society which has character diagnosis by blood type, we might be brainwashed and be close to “blood-type character”.
